Field Day Showcases Soil Health and Tailored Fertilization in Šakiai District, Lithuania

The first Field Day of Lithuanian CNCs in 2025 took place on 10 June at the farm of Mindaugas Martinaitis in the Šakiai district, bringing together 22 plant production advisers from the Lithuanian Agricultural Advisory Service (LAAS).

Martinaitis shared his experience with reduced tillage practices and his commitment to improving soil health through the application of granular poultry manure. Regular soil testing plays a key role in monitoring nutrient levels, while the Smart Agrometer tool enables precise, tailored fertilisation decisions. This approach ensures the efficient management of both macro- and micronutrients, aligning productivity with sustainability.

The event combined in-depth presentations with a practical field visit, offering advisers valuable first-hand insights into innovative fertilisation strategies and their integration into broader farm management practices.
