NUTRI-CHECK NET Webinar: Optimising Crop Nutrition through In-Season ‘Checks’ and ‘Adjustments’

Crop nutrition management is at a pivotal moment. With rising costs, increasing environmental concerns, and the need to secure future food production, it is more important than ever to refine nutrient applications. The NUTRI-CHECK NET project is leading the way by offering a structured three-step checking approach to help farmers enhance their crops’ nutritional performance:

1️⃣ Plan – Develop an informed crop nutrition strategy.
2️⃣ Check & Adjust – Assess crop performance and fine-tune nutrient applications.
3️⃣ Review – Reflect on results and refine future strategies.

To support farmers in implementing these critical steps, ADAS Crop Physiologists Sarah Kendall and Kate Storer will be hosting a webinar on Tuesday, April 1st, from 08:30 – 09:30 WEST.

What Will You Learn?

This informative session will provide: ✅ A detailed overview of the ‘Plan, Check & Adjust, Review’ approach.
✅ Guidance on how to use in-season checks to optimise nutrient applications.
✅ Practical advice on measuring and monitoring crops, with a focus on nitrogen and sulphur management in winter wheat.
✅ Insights into a range of tools and technologies available to support on-farm nutrition checks.

Hear from Experienced Farmers

Joining Sarah and Kate will be Andrew Williamson (Shropshire) and David Aglen (Fife), two farmers who have been actively involved in NUTRI-CHECK NET’s Crop Nutrition Clubs. They will share their hands-on experiences and strategies for managing crop nutrition effectively. A dedicated Q&A session will allow participants to engage directly with these experts and gain practical insights.
