Over the past two years, farmers in Nottinghamshire, UK, have collaborated through one of the NUTRI-CHECK NET project’s 26 Crop Nutrition Clubs, focusing mainly on winter wheat. Together, they explored innovative approaches to crop nutrition, including the use of Nil Nitrogen patches to assess soil nitrogen supply, fertiliser efficiency, and nutrient utilisation. Field visits, tissue and grain analysis, and yield comparisons helped the group better understand nutrient shortfalls and surpluses, supporting more sustainable and efficient farming practices.
